Abstract
A steady rise in the death rate due to burns in Burns Intensive Care units of hospitals, reflect the enormity of the problems faced by the medical community. Accelerated protein break down of massive tissue injury and heat losses make extensive burns very difficult to treat. Successful nutritional therapy during this critical period is based on vigorous energy and protein therapy.
